Update
The same weekend I had an exhibitor table at the LexSEPTA Special Needs Resource Fair, I also attended the online 2022 ABLE Assembly. Hosted by Berklee College of Music, the ABLE Assembly is a special needs arts teacher conference (with a heavy music emphasis).
The LexSEPTA Special Needs Resource Fair was about me talking to people and sharing information with them about what I do. Conversely, at the ABLE Assembly, I learned about the current trends in special needs music education. I’ve attended this every year since 2019, and I particularly enjoy the open discussion at the end of each day.
This year, a couple of the presenters talked about using Legos as manipulatives. I’d first learned about using Legos as manipulatives back in 2019, and I’ve been meaning to write a post about it. The conference gave me the kick I needed, click here to read the post Lego Rhythm Manipulatives.

In addition, the ABLE Assembly will present the BIAESN Digital Learning Series. This consists of monthly webinars and workshops. If I learn anything new or exciting, I’ll share it with you here on The Successful Music Student Blog.
